Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a word of the day drawn from a list created at the beginning of January. Each word was chosen to serve as a guide to inspire and inform my steps through 2020. If you are just joining me now and want to look in on earlier posts on this topic, you will find links to each at the end.

PATIENT
pa·tient ~ able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
When I came up with my list of words on which to hang my 2020 hat that would help me live into the person I aspire to be, why this word didn’t appear on my list is a mystery. Whether navigating traffic, corralling small boys, rubbing up against the rough edges of a relationship, encountering delays in my well planned agenda, running into an unexpected problem, or simply tolerating the chatter in my own head, patience is the oil that can grease the skids.
Like all of the qualities I hope to embody, patience is nothing if not a daily practice. Thankfully, as life would have it, there is no shortage of opportunities to put it to good use.
